John points out that the goal of Lent should be to grow in love and proposes that parishioners fast from unkind or harsh words, from gossip, from slander, and from anything that sows division in our families and our parish family. Fr. John suggests that parishioners feast on encouragement, edification, honoring, and thanking during this season.
